My Guitar Hero

So my brother came over last night and brought a Wii with him. It was FUN!

Check out her stance!

A total pro

Play that guitar Buggie.

Sorry for the poor quality, a) it was taken from my digital camera and b) I had to rotate the clip. So a lot of the quality got lost.
Anyway John, my brother, must have known we were cooking steak for dinner. So we all had steak, a baked potato, and corn (it would have been awesome if was on the cob, but it wasn't). It was a yummy dinner. Mmmmmmmmm. Steak. And for desert we had ice cream.
This was her very first ice cream cone.
Is there something on my face?
She LOVED it!
We were all laughing at Carly, including Hailey. Then we looked over at Hailey......

She LOVED it too!

What messy ice cream eaters I have! I sure do love them.

After the kiddos were in bed we all played with the Wii, parents included. It is soooooo fun. If you have never played one I highly recommend it. I boxed my brother and WON! It was awesome. What a great workout I got too!

Then to top it all off Dan and I watched the season finale of Lost. Ahhh! It was soooo good. I can't believe I have to wait until January, possibly February, 2009 for a new episode.

What a good night.

Memorial weekend. Fun?

Well, last week around Tuesday (5/20) Hailey was itching her nose a lot. We just thought it was allergies. Then on Wednesday (5/21) we figured it was just a cold. Then Thursday (5/22) night she didn't sleep at all and she was breathing very rapidly. So Friday (5/23) morning around 530am we took her to the emergency room at Primary Children's Medical Center. (It's times like this I am very grateful to live with my parents cause we were able to leave Carly sleeping in her crib. Thanks mom and dad for watching Carly!)

They gave her two Albuterol treatments while in the ER.
Her mask looked like a dragon, or as Hailey called it a "rhinoceros"

When those weren't working (she wasn't getting enough oxygen) they decided to give her oxygen through a nasal cannula. This picture pretty much explains how she felt about that.

Here is the pulse oximeter they put on her toe. I liked how it made her toe glow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, the question you might ask is: How do you keep a 3 year-old happy after watching The Lion King and 101 Dalmatians (the non animated version) and part of The Little Mermaid II (I didn't know there was such a thing either!)?
The Answer: Hand them your camera!
So these next few shots are the emergency room through the eyes of a 3 year-old, enjoy.
If you couldn't tell her legs were a big thing to take a picture of.
So, around 11 am they admitted and transferred her to her room.
Here she is listening to Mr. Bear's (she was given the bare for doing so good with her breathing treatments and named him Mr. Bear) heart and lungs.
Listening to her tummy (notice how big her belly is? It's from all the air she was swallowing from breathing so fast!)
Later that day my parents came up and brought Carly.
Hailey was so happy to see her and vise versa!
They do love each other!
Eating one of her hospital meals(and that's about all she ate, just what was on her spoon).
So we (Dan and I) decided that I would stay with Hailey this night and Dan would stay the next. This was Friday night. She didn't sleep to well (neither did I, I only got about 3 hours of sleep, and not all at once.). The nurse had to give her breathing treatments every two hours. Hailey freaked out so bad that I had the hardest time calming her down. She probably woke up the whole hospital floor she was so loud! Anyway, the nurse, Emilee, who was my fave nurse that we had, changed the type of breathing treatment we were giving to Hailey around 2 or 3am. Hailey absolutely didn't want us to give it to her. I had to pin her down while the nurse gave it to her two different times! She did better later that day though. So Dan dropped Carly off at his parents (thanks Russ and Jolene) and got to the hospital around 930am. When he got there Hailey said, "Why did you leave Carly at home? I miss her." it was so cute. Anyway, I left around 1130am and went home and showered and chilled for a bit. Then I went back to the hospital.
That afternoon Hailey was given this doll to color on and make her own. She named it Sheed (don't ask me where she came up with that one)!
Notice Sheed has a nasal cannula just like Hailey!
I left around 430pm to go to a family BBQ cause my parents had picked Carly up from Dan's parents and I wanted to see her cause I hadn't seen her since the night before. After I ate I took Carly back to the hospital with me. Hailey was on room air and doing her treatments every 4 hours (instead of every 2). I left a little after 8 pm and went home with Carly ( I would have stayed longer, but I had to get Carly to bed). So Sunday I got up to the hospital around 830am and Hailey was off of oxygen completely! At 1030am we were able to go to Sacrament meeting at the hospital! The best part.....it was only 30 minutes long! Then two Primary workers came into Hailey's room and gave her a lesson. It's so great that they have that. So she was able to come home today around 2pm. Yay! Home! We are all exhausted but so happy to be home. Hailey is doing a lot better. We will still have to give her treatments at home, but hopefully not forever. She was diagnosed with R.A.D. (Reactive Airway Disease). They say she is too young to call it asthma. I guess to diagnose it as asthma they have to do a bunch of tests and I guess she is too young to run the tests. So lets all hope and pray that she will out grow this.
Right now
I want......
A tan
Like this one (the pic was scanned, I promise it was a dark tan)!
This was probably the last time I had a tan, and that was about 9 years ago!
A million dollars
Wouldn't that be nice?
A stomach like this
I wouldn't mind the skinny legs either!
To be on vacation somewhere like this
Ahhhh!
A maid
To do all the cleaning, especially the toilets!
AND
A swimming suit like this
I'm so just kidding!
But seriously, these are totally real!
Honestly,
A swimsuit like this
Aren't they cute?
Okay, so the list could go on and on, but I had to stop somewhere.
Can it be?
(in my head the next line is, "Can it be Christine? BRAVO!" Sorry, that's from Phantom of the Opera. That's totally not what I'm going to post about, so sorry for that tangent.)
Okay, so Hailey and Carly have been sharing a room for a year. Well for a little while there we've had to put Carly down first and then wait 15-30-45 minutes to put Hailey down cause Carly wouldn't sleep if she could see Hailey. Anyway, there were a couple of nights recently that we would put Hailey to bed and Carly wouldn't be asleep. Well, Carly would cry for a minute, and Hailey would say "it's okay Carly" and she would stop and that was it. So Dan said last night, "lets just put them down at the same time." And guess what? It worked!!! Tonight too!!!!!! Yay! I get more "no kid" time at night.
Five.
Five dollar.
Five dollar foot long!
It's ca ca catching on.
Is it just me or does this song get stuck in your head too? Gotta give it to Subway, this was very clever marketing. Nothing like a dumb catchy song to get you noticed.
(If you click on "this" ^--up there, it's a link that will take you to the song/commercial if you want to hear/see it)
Iron man
So I remember a time when Dan was in school and I was working I thought, "Gee, I can't wait until Dan gets a job that he can dress up for." Yes, I really thought those words, I might have even said them out loud. I think I was jealous that he got to wake up and put on jeans and a t-shirt everyday (little did I know when we had kids and I got to stay home.......).
Anyway, so when Dan graduated he finally did get a job that he gets (has) to dress up for, well, I never realized that that meant something had to be ironed EVERY NIGHT! Whether it's pants or a shirt, there is always something! I must say that I have one of the best husbands ever though, cause he does most of the ironing, but still. Who knew that a good job meant loads and loads of ironing? Who knew that Dan would never complain about ironing his own clothes (I do help once in awhile, like tonight for example, hence this post!)?
Just me?
Is it just me, or does she looks so grown up with her hair this way?
She doesn't know how to hold still for a picture, or how to smile for that matter!
View from the top
I didn't realize that you could still see Hailey's birthmark on her forehead until I saw these pictures! Wow, you can really see it! OH and she is also recovering from a big scratch on her nose.
Wish you were here?
Happy May!
After from the back
These next few pictures I just thought were funny, so I thought I would share.
(I'm thinking about using this one ^ as my profile pic, LOL . What do you think?)
(Or, maybe I'll use this one!)
This one's blurry, but I thought it was funny.
Have a good day!
