2 years and going.....kind of

It's been two years, as of July 11th, that I started this blog!
Wow.
I can't believe it's been two years!
I guess that's all I have to say about that.

Rainbow

One day after it down poured for like 15 minutes, I looked out our window and saw this!

It was so bright. I've never seen a rainbow so bright before.
It was actually a full rainbow, but my camera isn't fancy enough to capture the whole thing.

So I took a video of it! LOL!
It was very cool.

Swimming lessons

So I had this idea to put the girls into swimming lessons cause I thought they would love them!

Here's Carly hanging on to the side

She even got brave enough to go down the slide one day!

(I'd gone swimming one day and got burned really bad on my shoulders, hence the shirt)

Yeah, this picture pretty much sums up how swimming lessons really went!

Happy and content out of the water

Hailey's turn.....

Don't let that smile fool you. This was only the first day.

Here her teacher is trying to get Hailey to stick her face in the water.

This is the last day of lessons, notice that her hair is actually wet!

After the last class the teachers give out "report cards" and on the back of Hailey's she wrote, "I would not recommend moving her up to the next level." Nice. Good work Hailey.

Here she is happy to wait until Carly's lessons were over.

Playing with the toys that were supplied for the parent tot class.

Boy was I wrong! I kinda feel like this was a HUGE waste of my time and money. Both girls hated the lessons. What's with that? I also think if I decided to do lessons next year I will try to go more on the private lessons level so they have more time with the teacher, I dunno.

Hailey bug

We've had this puzzle for a few years now. Hailey just decided that she could put it together. So I had to take pics of course!

Cheeeeeeeeeeeeese!

She's getting so big. I can't believe she's going to be 5 this year! She is such a good big sister. The other night while having family prayer it was Carly's turn to say it and usually Dan or I help her, but Hailey said, "I'll help Carly." So she did and it was the sweetest prayer I've ever heard! She's also going to be such a big helper when the new baby is here. She's so excited about having a new little baby.

The other night we were at my parents house and my dad put this movie on for Hailey and her cousin Ethan. It's called Them and it was made in the 50s about these giant ants. Well, a couple days after she saw it she said, "Mom can we go to grandma and grandpas so I can watch Them?" So we went and she watched it. The next morning (yesterday) she came running into our room really early saying that she had a bad dream about big ants. So last night after we put the girls to bed Hailey came out about 30 minutes later with huge tears running down her face. She said, "I feel really dark inside." Talk about breaking my heart. So I suggested Dan give her a blessing. So we asked her if she wanted him to give her one and if she believed that it would help her and she said yes. So after the blessing we took the girls back to bed (yeah, Carly got out of bed since Hailey got out) and Dan laid with Hailey for a little bit so she could calm down and fall asleep. So this morning Dan was around when the girls woke up (Thursdays he goes in at 10) and Hailey said, "Dad! The blessing worked!!" and then she came running to me and told me the same. She was so excited that the blessing worked. What a cute little stinker.

Family "reunion" (or more like family get together)

So for the past 3 years Dan's family on his dad's side have been all getting together once a year so we can all catch up with what's going on. This year it was the last weekend in May.

I obviously didn't get the memo that orange was the color to wear!

We try to do it at a park so the kids can play.

Isn't she cute?

I love this picture of Dan and Carly. Their eyes are so blue!

This was dessert, dirt cake, and it was yummy!

(I made it, so of course it was, right?)

Yum. I want some right now.

I don't know why, but every year we have had a pinata. I guess cause it's fun for the kids. We do it from youngest to oldest of all the little kids. Carly got to go first only because sweet little Suzie is still just a cute little peanut.

Me and the girls, not such a great picture, but the best one we got.

Dan and the girls.

Our attempt at a family shot. Can you tell that the girls are saying, "cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese"?

We had a good time.

Big girl

Shortly after we moved (back in April) we transitioned Carly from the crib to a big girl bed!

She did pretty good.

She still shares a room with Hailey.

One night we did go in and found her like this.....

We figure she must've climbed up there when Hailey had fallen asleep and was playing with Hailey's princesses until she fell asleep herself! What a nut.

We also just recently got rid of the bink. We cut the tip off it. She's doing pretty good with that. She says "I don't want my bink cause it has a hole." So at least she thinks it's her idea to not want the binky, right?

Now, if only we can get her potty trained before this baby comes. We'll see, but I doubt it.

Behind

I'm not talking about my butt, however, it has grown ten times it's size since I've been pregnant which is always fun right? Anyway, I have sooooooo many blogs that I want to visit and comment on and I want to post a ton of stuff. So if you haven't "seen" me around your blog lately I wish I had some really cool excuse like, we were on a trip to Hawaii all summer, or something like that, wouldn't that be nice? Instead all I can say is I've been around, I've read your blog, I just haven't left a comment, sorry. I'll leave a comment soon! And I'm going to try to get caught up with what's been a happenin' with the Houtzes for the last few months in these next few days, so be prepared for a lot of posts from me! :)

Have a good day!

PS I turned the comments off so you don't feel the pressure to leave a comment and you can go away guilt free! You're welcome! :)

Holy cow!

Just thought I'd put this out there......

We (the Houtz family) will most likely have a

baby

in

TWO MONTHS

from today!

Crazy sauce.

I do realize I have a lot to blog about. I've been wanting to, our computer is not working. The one I'm on right now is a loner. So updates are coming, I promise.
