Is there a theme here?

Read blogs. Check.
Feeling a theme going on in a lot of peoples posts. Check.
Log into blogger. Check.
Start a new post. Check.
Being inspired by the dozen or so blogs I've read that had check lists like this one and thought I would hop on the bandwagon. Check.

Seriously. I feel like everyone else was doing one, so why not me? Since we are on the topic of same themed blog posts....Do you ever feel like you post about something and then a couple days later you are reading a random blog and it's exactly the same thing you blogged about the couple of days before? Crazy how many people think the same. Don'tcha think?

Let me explain....

Okay, so yesterday got better after my post. But here is what led up to it:

So I was trying to wake up early so I could get a little exercise in, but I kept pushing snooooooze (oops). So then I actually woke up cause I heard Carly crying, mind you it was only 620am (she usually sleeps until 730 or 8)! But I didn't go and get her, instead I started my work out. Then, Hailey comes walking into the room around 645am and she was not being a sweet angel. So then Dan went and got Carly, who cried and cried cause it wasn't mama. So after I worked out the girls were just being grouchy, and I said "We are going to have great day." I was trying to change my attitude. So then a little while later I decide that I was going to take the girls outside to play cause it was warm, finally. So we go outside, and we are blowing bubbles and then I see and hear too many wasps and get freaked out and so I take the girls back inside. Hailey cries and cries cause she wants to blow more bubbles, so grandpa takes her out. A few minutes later I hear this sobbing coming from the stairs and I go and see that it's Hailey. She spilled all the bubbles out side and was so sad. Then she rubbed her eyes and got the bubbles in her eyes and that made her cry even more! Then we got the bubbles out of her eyes and she almost started to rub her eyes again (before we could wash her hands)! So then a little bit later Hailey went potty. Then I went to see if she was okay and I saw her picking the toilet paper, that she has already used and put in the toilet, OUT of the toilet! So, not using my "inside voice" I say, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? PUT IT DOWN! PUT IT DOWN." This freaked Hailey out and she started to shake the toilet paper so that pee got all over the toilet seat. She said, "I don't want it to go down the toilet, it needs to go in the garbage." So Hailey was crying and I ran over to her and somehow made her drop the toilet paper, into the toilet thankfully. Then we wash our hands. Oh and in the whole of this happening Carly started crying cause Hailey was crying, it was fun. So then I cleaned the toilet seat off with disinfecting wipes. After all that the girls ate lunch and I put both of them down for a nap! I LOVE NAPS, have I ever told you that before?

One of those days.........

Knock. Knock. (I'm assuming that you are doing the answering part by your self, you know the whole, "who's there?")

Freep

No thanks. I've had enough today. (You might have to say the whole joke out loud before you get it.)

Yep, it's one of those days.

You know you're old when........

When you are in the grocery store and there are a bunch of high school aged kids blocking the isle you need to go down and you hear one of them quietly say, "Make room for the lady."

Yes, true story this happened to me yesterday. When did I become a lady? Doesn't that name make you feel old? Or is it just me?

Correction....

#5 on the post Hailey's been tagged I got it wrong and I actually realized I'd gotten it wrong the next day. And even Dan has corrected me. So I thought I would fix it. Her new name is NOT Diva, it's actually DRAMA, as in Drama Queen! How could I have forgotten? Knew it started with a D though. Silly mommy (as Hailey would say)!

Still a Peanut!

She loves the bath. And she actually got to take one with out Hailey!

Trying to get every last crumb

Not in the mood to smile
This little chica just had her 15 month appt today (she turned 15 months on the 18th)! Yes, as the title explains it, she is still a peanut. She is just barely under the 25th% for her height, the 3rd% for her weight, and her head is in the 50th%! She also had to get a shot today, poor thing. Still cute as a button, and almost as small as one! :)

7 Years!!!!!!!!

This picture is not of our first date, but it was while we were dating. Check out my looooooong hair!

Well, I forgot to post something, but yesterday, the 20th, was the 7 year anniversary of mine and Dan's first date! Wow, where does time go?
Dan picked me up around 7pm. I was wearing a sky blue turtleneck sweater with black pants. I don't remember what he was wearing. We went to TGIFriday's for dinner. On the way there he told me I had nice eyebrows! Funny huh? Anyway, after dinner, we went to my friend Lizzy's parents house (she still lived at home, and her parents were out of town) and watched a movie. What movie you might wonder? Well it was A Night at the Roxbury! Afterwards he drove me home and then he kissed me. This was the best date I'd ever been on, not because of the things we did, but because of the person Dan was/is. I was so giddy just even thinking about him after that. He even called me the next day just to talk! Also I always thought from the beginning of our dating that he was going to tell me he loved me, but he waited at least a month or two before he did that. And when he did all I said was "Thank you." Later that day I did end up telling him I loved him too though. I'm really glad that I gave this guy my phone number.

Love you Bubba.

This song reminds me of when we were dating

Hailey's been tagged!

10 Things all about The Bug

1. Hailey was born November 16, 2004, it was a Tuesday and it was mine and Dan's 3rd wedding anniversary! She arrived at 9:03am. She was 7lbs 13oz and 21 1/2inches long! She had/has two birth marks, one on her forehead and one on her nose.

2. When she was born she had dislocated hips and at two weeks old she had to get a harness and wear it for the first 3 months of her life. This was really hard on me cause she was my first baby and I couldn't just swaddle her up tight in a blanket, and when it came to dressing her I had to be pretty creative (usually a onsie with socks, creative huh?). After those 3 months she had to sleep in a hard brace that held her legs out and to the sides for another 3 months. Thankfully by using those things it helped her hips. I'm glad that she was young enough that she doesn't even remember going through that.

3. She is so loving. She always has been. I remember when she told me for the first time "love" and gave me a huge hug when I didn't even ask for it. All day long she makes sure she tells me she loves me at least 5 times! She says, "Mom?" and I say, "What?" and she says, "I love you." It's one of the best things to hear.

(This is her 2nd birthday, notice the no hair?)
4. She had NO HAIR until after she turned two. Her hair started to actually come in after Carly was born! I guess she felt she had some competition.

5. Her new name is Hailey Kaye DIVA Houtz! Dan and I tease her all the time and when she acts all diva-y we say, "OK Diva," and she gets so mad, and yells, yes yells, "MY NAME IS HAILEY." It's pretty funny.

6. She loves all things girly, makeup, lip gloss/chap stick, fingernail polish, dresses, shoes, princesses, jewelry. Everything that is EXCEPT for having her hair done. She throws the biggest fit. I don't know what it is about having her hair done, but I promise you that I fight (not physically of course, and never with abusing words) with her EVERYDAY to get her to let me do her hair!

7. She loves my camera on my phone and this is the usual picture that she loves to take (and I love it too!). She is such a nut.

8. She is tall for her age. I'm so surprised by this because I've always been so short. At her 2 year appt. she was 36 inches tall. If the facts are right and you double that then her suggested height when she is all "growed" up is supposed to be 6 feet!

9. She loves to sing and dance. I love hearing her sing cause she will do it with all her heart at the top of her lungs and she doesn't care if she doesn't really know the words cause she just makes 'em up! It's so funny to hear the way she interprets the words she thinks are being said.

10. She is so into words right now. She loves to tell you what letter makes what sound, and what word starts with what letter. She can spell, cat, cow, hot and dog! She amazes me with how smart she is.

I sure love this little girl.

I now tag Ethan Holbrook, Ryan Hager, Ethan and Hannah Diehl, Charlotte Scherble, and Caleb Miller.

Fun Fact

There are 3 adult men, out of five, on my side of the family (I'm counting only my brothers, my dad, my husband, and brother-in-law) who all have first names that start with D and last names that start with H. My brothers name is Dave Holbrook, my brother-in-laws name is Darrel Hager, and my husbands name is Dan Houtz!

So makes you wonder if my brother John or my dad Mark feel left out..?....?

Taxes....

I can't believe that taxes are due today. That means it's already April 15th (when did that happen?)! I would have to say that this is the loooongest that Dan and I have ever waited to file our taxes. Usually I'm the one who gets to actually "prepare" them. This year I just haven't felt the urge to get them done, and we are getting mula back too, lots of it (having two kids really does pay off!)! I did get the federal done last week (which is still waiting a long time to finish to us), but I just put our TWO, yes two, states in the mail today! So anyway I'm wishing to all those procrastinators, like my self, Happy Tax Deadline (unless you are filing an extension)!

That was then.......

Push play (sometimes you have to twice)

1. I turned 8 (I'm the one on the top row with the red bow in my hair)

2. I was baptised and......

3. I was confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (yep that's me with the eyes closed)

10 years ago1. This very exact date (10 years ago) I was in Mexico with my sister (I'm the one in red)

2. I was a senior in high school (this was the night of our senior dinner dance)

From left to right; Melissa, Me, Danielle, and I don't remember her name, sorry.
Oh and I think that's Cooper that snuck into the background!

3. I graduated from high school! I was so glad to get outta there. Notice the sky in this picture? No, it wasn't photoshopped, it really was that dark and gloomy. It was a freezing cold day, and the graduation ceremony lasted waaaaaaaaaay too long, and it started to rain on us. It was so dumb, they had a kid that wasn't graduating speak! Anyway, when they started to give out diplomas everyone just ran to the sides to get in line so that they could get the heck out of the weather, it was craaaaazzzzy. None of this "after you get your diploma go sit back down" stuff.

Can you guess by the colors (orange, white, and blue) which high school in Utah I went to?

1. My nephew Ian was born.

2. Dan graduated from Utah State with his Bachelors.

I lucked out with this picture, seeing that he left before I did and I wasn't planning on seeing him before the ceremony started!

3. We moved back to Salt Lake from Logan.

1. We welcomed Carly into our lives.

I just really like this picture so I thought I would post it!

2. I was starting to get used to the two kids thing.

3. We put our house in Arizona up for sell, and moved back to Utah!

This year

1. My dad was in the ATV accident (one of the scariest things I've experienced)

2. I'm pretty sure that I have the cutest little girls on the face of this planet. I also think that Hailey is starting to actually like having Carly around.

3. I am still so in LOVE with this sexy beast! Rhar!

Yesterday

1. I took my dad to one of his therapies.

2. I went to visit Momo (my grandma)

3. I went shopping while Dan watched the girls (HEAVEN! thanks Dan.). He even put them to bed with out me!

Tomorrow

1. I will take my dad to therapy.

2. I will probably go shopping while waiting for my dad to finish his therapy.

3. I might take the girls and go visit Dan at work.

Whew! K, so, this is supposed to be a TAG, so if you would like to do this one go ahead.

I didn't lie though cause someday we do plan to have a third child, but for now we love the two we already have and are not ready for number 3!

Hope you had a good April Fools Day! :)
